Our summer consisted mainly of...

Lots of park visits.

Trips to the corner store for popsicles.

And tuckered out kids!

One Berry, Two Berry, Pick me a Blueberry

In case you didn't know... that's a line from "Jamberry" - one of Grady's favorite books!

This summer Keith didn't work the harvest... so for the first time since Grady was born, he was home all summer!  This translated into LOTS of quality father/son time.  Keith even scheduled some daddy play dates with his other teacher/dad friends.

One day they went berry picking out in Hillsboro.

Not sure what is happening in this photo.

Grady and his buddy Drew.  I think the dads picked, and the boys just ate.  I don't remember who had to change those diapers, but I'm sure I volunteered Keith.

PULL!!

After the berry picking, they went to a spray park.

I don't want to know what happened next here (a shot to the face perhaps?)

"It's ok, Drew!  Shake it off!"

Seaside

We're so close to the beach, yet we don't go very often!  I think this was Grady's third time to the beach, ever.  We went with our friends, the McManamas.

We met them at Camp 18, outside of Seaside, for a killer breakfast.

Grady and Daddy on the "train."

We rented a surrey for an hour.  It was a blast!

Of course we played on the foggy, cold beach.

He was out before we even got on the highway.

Anniversary Trip 2010: Bend

Every year we try to go away for a night or two for our anniversary.  This year we decided to go to Bend - not a place either of us has spent a ton of time.

We stayed at the Inn at Seventh Mountain in a one bedroom suite.  It was gorgeous!

We ate lots of yummy food.

We loved how you really couldn't be anywhere in Bend without seeing at least one mountain.

We did go white water rafting, but I didn't get pictures of that, for obvious reasons.  Mainly we laid by the pool, ate and walked around shops.  Just before we headed out of town, we went up to Pilot Butte.

This medallion deal labels all the mountains for you.

Celebrating the 4th with a Bang

I got up at the crack of dawn (pre-dawn actually) to run a half-marathon on Sauvie's Island, the morning of the 4th of July.  I used to run a lot of road races in college, but I haven't done anything in the past couple of years.  My friend Robyn and I tried to get ourselves back on the race scene with this half!  Here we are, looking our absolute best.

Lake Billy Chinook 2010

Another annual camping trip for us.  The group we camp with is made up of four families - the patriarchs of which all taught together back in the day (Keith's dad + 3 old teaching buddies).  These four families now extend all the way down to grandchildren - it's a fun group!  As you can see, I wasn't great at taking pictures here either!

Grady and his cousin (and hero), Cade chillin' on a boulder.

Memorial Day Camping at Foster

Every Memorial Day and Labor Day we go camping at Foster Lake outside of Sweet Home.  I'm not very good at taking pictures on these trips (clearly).

Deep thoughts with Papa by the campfire.

Testing out the trike he got for his birthday... Flinstone style.

Drinking the good stuff.
